Friday Nooiiiight, Insee Father’s Noodle House

The weather on Friday was faaaaabulous and after work we were feeling excited for Friday night. We recently watched a video on noodles around Denver, and that paired with Denver Restaurant Week is the perfect storm. We chose Insee Noodle House (Insee Father’s Noodle House sometimes). We opened the place up because we were hungry early but that meant our food came so quick. We loved the atmosphere, all of their plates and bowls and mugs and glasses were so cute. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful! I’m going to get picky here so stick with me! We really liked all of our food but price in mind it was spendy for not the best ever noodles we’ve had and questionable service and ordering flow. The Thai tea was 10/10. Mae Kong Beef Noodles were sooo tasty, but I’ve had better rice noodles. The Ka Nom Jeeb Thai Dumplings were good, kind of like of shu mai, tasty but kind of just alright. The Thonglor BBQ Pork Wonton Soup was really great as well, flavors were great, the wontons were just really falling apart. Like I said, maybe a little spendy for not knowing if you order with the QR or with the waitress, nothing that “blew me away”, and average service.

Walk around RiNo

After dinner near LoHi we drove over to RiNo for a walk since the weather was too good! We got to walk with our friends Abbie and Alex and Winnie, watching the sunset and chatting and taking in the nightlife. It’s so fun to walk around as the city gets busy for weekend nights, the bars and parties we used to go to that we just watch from outside now. We checked the spot where Ryder and I spray painted for our engagement photos, and sad to report that it’s finally been covered. Sad day but that’s what happens with public art! When we got tired of walking around we said goodbye to our friends and got back in the car to head to another neighborhood for dessert.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream!

I’ve been wanting to try Van Leeuwen’s for quite a while and we finally went! I thought this place might just be spendy and trendy and not live up to the hype, but I was wrong. I got the Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb (YUM! Lots of brownies and crunchy honey pieces) and the Praline Butter Cake (oh my gosh there were such good cake pieces in here…I love butter pecan so this was a must). Big fan wowowowow the texture and stuff inside wow. They sell pints too so I might have to…get into that.

Saturday St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Saturday morning we had our coffee and breakfast and ran over to meet Abbie and Alex and Winnie to catch the St. Patrick’s Day parade here! We got to hang out with Maggie and Paul, too<3 Winnie loved her first parade and said the St Bernard float was her favorite, right after the bagpipes. We were curious…why did the parade start with so many cops and sheriffs 😭are they irish or am I missing something (sarcasm). It is four hours long so maybe it’s just to fill time at the beginning with shit that doesn’t matter. We did like the floats and music and actual Irish-centered things. Anyway, I found out it’s the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade west of the Mississippi, so. Glad it was a nice day for all of us!

Skateparks: Golden and Cushing

After a little food, rest, outfit reset, we headed out to Golden Skatepark with the same crew minus Maggie and Paul. Fun fact from Alex (he’s from Golden): Golden Skatepark is the oldest skatepark in Colorado! They’ve been slowly remodeling it again and it’s amaaaaazing, the whole park is so great. We set all of our stuff up to sit down and the boys got on their wheels and then the wind decided it needed to kick us out. It got so windy so fast…but a storm was rolling in from the mountains so it made sense. – we also made it out to the skatepark in Englewood Thursday night! It was a lovely night since we’ve been having such warm days. Me and Winnie and Abbie cheered on our boys and yapped so much. TY for the scarf omg I’ve been wanting a scarf for sun protection on my lil shaved head!!

Woody’s Wood-Fired Pizza in Golden

After the skatepark we went to Woody’s in Golden, which is like a super amazing, homemade, high-quality Pizza Ranch. I really shouldn’t be making that comparison even, it isn’t close, but it’s the closest thing I’ve got. For $17.99 you get unlimited soup and salad and pizza and let me tell you we got our money’s worth. It was so good 😭 You can request they make any of the pizzas on the menu, even with mods. It was kind of heaven. Our waiter also knew all of the bands we love, so assuming we’ll see him at some of these spring tour shows coming up! Hahaha. 100000000% worth it.

Golden Sweets

After dinner we walked around Golden, and once we felt ready we headed to get some ice cream at Golden Sweets. I got salted caramel oreo and it was #1 to me (I feel like it’s such a Colorado flavor but maybe that’s just because of The Little Man Ice Cream). I loved it and would go and love it again. They have so many flavors to scoop, plus other candy, milkshakes, malts, etc. It was still nice out so we sat outside and got to eat. We like ice cream <3

Yu’s Noodle Shop

Sunday afternoon while out for errands south of town we decided to stop by Yu’s Noodle Shop! We’ve heard a lot about it, and stopping in it was really busy. Granted it was during Denver Restaurant Week and they were participating, but it was nice to see it moving and flowing. This place was fab! I had the chicken and asparagus noodles which were full of flavor and super tasty. Ryder had the Dan-Dan noodles and they were spicy!! We liked to noodles here a lot. We also had the beef pancake as an appetizer and we really loved the beef in it! Will we go back? If we’re in the area and feeling it, sure. I don’t know that we’d make the trip for it specifically, though. Would love to try some other dishes.

What I’m Snackin’ On

Working on getting in enough food, lowering my nausea and cortisol from not eating, and having food throughout the day so I don’t have to dump it all on breakfast or lunch. These are the easy things I’m trying to keep handy to snack on or get my hunger started. We do a lot of activities, we work out a lot, so I have to make sure I’m getting enough food, protein, carbs, sugar, a little of everything to keep me going. And water. Y’all know I like the Hydrate Mio’s, we also keep little crystal light packets (just use like a quarter of it per waterbottle lol sorry Daniel.)

  • Cheese and meet rollups

  • Pickled beets

  • Applesauce packets

  • Perfect protein bars

  • Babybel or Laughing Cow cheese

  • Tuna packets

Dynasty: The Murdochs on Netflix

Four episodes of real-life Succession!!!!!! Holy shit you guys this was an insane documentary. Obviously we all know the Murdochs for their being a media conglomerate and being evil etc. but this was a really thorough look at their history, scandals, priorities, family, and more. It was JAW freaking DROPPING. This is the family that they “may have” based Succession off of and it’s wild to see it in real life, with real people, with some of the most money on earth, access, politics, power, family dynamics, it’s all so interesting to me. I can’t even imagine what this life is like with all the billions being tossed around.

This man rannnnn this documentary!

Breakfast when I’m nauseous etc.

It snowed last weekend and now it’s 80

SLOMW Insanity

We are getting fedddd lately (and maybe it’s my restarts of shows too) but y’all I love Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Yeah yeah yeah brainrot whatever I’ll fight you. It’s interesting and insane and entertaining and I watch it. Can’t believe we’ve already seen Demi. Taylor and Chase going on a “date”? Learning that Mikayla and Jace started dating when she was 16 and he was 21. Poor Jessi. What a season. I’m making my way through and wowowow. Demi singing was real funny and cringe. This singles mixer was…something. I loved Mikayla telling Whitney that not being around when her baby was born made her sad. Okay Connor is such a green flag I can’t believe him doing his close-up magic. Note: I’m realizing how similar growing up Mormon is to growing up in North Dakota and it’s really making some things click for me ahhahahahahaha. I’m like, why do I relate so much? Oh yeah, I spent the first 25 years of my life in Fargo 😂 – checking back in before I publish today…so much drama yesterday with Taylor and The Bachelorette season getting seemingly cancelled and those videos coming back. We’ll see what happens!

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City

Holy shit what a show and what a cast. I’m finishing up the S1 reunion and I’ve never stood up with my mouth open for a majority of an episode like I have with these. So glad I’m diving into Housewives, thank you Lance. Thankfully I’ve steered clear of most spoilers but I am waiting for Jen to go to prison. Her 8 assistants 😂her chalet and parties omg. The drama around the hospital smell…they can really make wine outta water. I’m obsessed and looking forward to seeing their journeys to where I know they are now. –okay now I’m on season 2 and I just can’t wait for what happens (Jen to prison!!). Also I wonder if Jen really was on her Twitter ragging on Brooks Marks.

A busy weekend and a busy week and busy busy busy! Remember we’re moving to Mondays and to look for our gear review 3/23! <3
