What Do You Call False Spring That’s Lasted All Winter

Hiiiiiiii welcome back for Edition 6. What a week!!! Sending you all the love and light and positivity you might need right now, as the world descends into wartime and fascism. It’s strange to have media and be so close yet so far from it all. Every day a new fresh hell, a new headline that makes you shake your head, wonder what the heck you can do to help, and try to feel that through. I’m working on the fact that I need to live my life at the same time as all of this, so how can I use my empathy and immense care as well as protect myself? Being mindful of it helps me. I’m working on getting in 3+ meals per day (I struggle with breakfast and lunch because of nausea etc which will be helped by eating breakfast and lunch 😆) and being present. And drinking water…somewhere in the last few months I stopped getting as much water in and that’s not something I’d like to continue. Anyway, hope you enjoy. It Snode 🌨️

It snowed all day in Denver on Friday 3/6 (for the first time all year? Maybe?) so you knowwwww we were eyeing a weekend day to go skiing. Saturdays end up with insane traffic and this year has been worse with the snow totals, so after a storm like this it’s the worst. There was traffic going up to the mountains on Thursday night because of the Friday storm. So we settled on going Sunday, especially after waking up and looking at the traffic (2+ hours! No). – Okay I’m back post-sunday ski. We did go and it was amazing! The weather was beautiful. Some great snow! Lol after having not much snow this season we had wayyyy to much fun on this little powder. Ryder caught a bird while we were in the trees, too? Canadian Jays were flying around us and he stuck out his arm and hand and there it landed. So crazy. We hit some parks, then the Mary Jane side, but it was slow and annoying so we headed back and hit Ash Cat to round out our day. I hit two tubes! I’m just learning tubes so I’m scared but I’m trying!! I’ll have it by the end of the season.

Rocky Mountain Arsenal 🦬

There’s a wildlife drive you can take up north of Denver at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge. It has gorgeous views and you often get to see bison and deer. We’ve gone for sunset before, but this weekend we drove the loop midday and got to see soooooo many bison. I love them so much it’s so cool to see them with this beautiful backdrop of the Denver skyline and the mountains. We saw some foxes and birds too. People can be really annoying on this one way drive though so be prepared, and the signage isn’t very clear so good luck figuring out which way to go. Sorry I didn’t take any photos I was driving.

Ziggi’s Coffee 🥤☕

Ok you know how when I went to Utah I talked -A Bunch- about how I wanted more nonalc drink options like dirty sodas? Well I searched Denver Reddit and we have a few places that would itch that Swig scratch, like Ziggi’s. We tried it out and I got the Rootin Tootin which was rootbeer with butterscotch. Ryder got the Grand Prix which was Pepsi and cherry and something else. I looooved mine hehehehehe I’m so excited because there are many locations around. They have so many drinks, coffee drinks, soda drinks, refresher things, idk their menu is extensive. Fun!

Harry Styles New Album 🔁

I like Harry Styles and his music and finally got around to listening to this new album, and I have to say it’s reallllllly really great. I’m loving it. I’m listening to it right now. First thoughts on top three songs in playing order: 1. American Girls 2. Ready, Set, Go 3. Coming Up Roses. What a fun album!!! I know I’ll be playing this one throughout the spring. Oh I’m loving the mix of pop-y and slower and happy and ugh. Nicely done. I love listening to a lot of different music and love to sit down and listen through a new one top to bottom. Highly recommend doing that with this one!! Maybe even in the car with the windows down. I feel like it needs sun on the side.

Heyo a Rib Update 🦴 💪🏼

My cracked ribs are becoming uncracked, slowly! I can still feel the muscle and hurt spot but I’ve been able to finally get back in the gym and working on upper body on top of the lower body I was already able to do. We went rollerblading the other day and that went really well (skiing is great cross-training for it lol). We also made it to WP to ski, and that’s going great! I really just feel it when I’m pushing hard with my poles, which unfortunately has been happening a lot with the spring slow snow. Anyway, so happy with my progress and glad that some cracked ribs didn’t have me laid up too long. For timeline’s sake - 2 weeks of 10+ pain. 1 week of 8+ pain. 1 week of 5+ pain. Then just onto muscle soreness and tightness in the area as I can feel it healing up. I don’t recommend cracking ribs but if you do you can get through it I promise.

Summer House!!! 👑🫡

Amanda is living and I’m living to see it. Oh my gosh she is glowing, thriving, being a girly and being a friend and being herself. We know I restarted Summer House, and it can be difficult to watch her and Kyle’s entire relationship on a show. That said, I’m so happy for all of them, the cast, they seem so happy. I’m loving watching old eps, the clothes and sayings and everything from 10 years ago is so funny and nostalgic. Seeing old Carl is emotional!! And then watching him build Soft Bar now. And having seen how it’s done since!!! Ahhh. It’s really wild watching and knowing everything that happens. As for the new eps, I’m so glad to see Lindsay in some, I miss her!! And these parties are so insane compared to the old ones 😆Loving KJ, Dara, Ben, Bailey, and Levi as newbies so much. And I’ll just never be over Ciara I love her. Do we think her and West are back together?

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City 🍸

I’ve been into a good amount of Bravo shows but never any housewives, and during this little snowstorm I’m binging TV. I messaged my Lance who is expert on Housewives to see where I should start, with what one, etc. I’ve started RHOSLC and wowwwwwwww I’m hooked. Especially having gone to SLC recently!! I can’t wait to chip away at all of these. —Okay update a couple days and episodes later..I’m almost done with season 1 and I LOVE THIS SHOW. Okay these women combined with UT and Mormonism and alcohol and drama and fighting o m g. I love my reality tv though, we know. I love other tv, too, so don’t judge me girl.

I got my nails doneeeeee 💅🏼

I go in every 3-4 weeks and this month I was strugggggling with design. I chose light blue with olive green stripes and love it. Done by my girl Yeinny at Nails House by Bonati. I love all their employees 🥹I’ve seen Sabina, Ksenia, Yeinny, and Lola. When you book your appointment you can choose who you want or you can pick “Any Staff”, and I pick “Any Staff” each time. I’ve got my next two appointments booked because I’ve been scorned by my own bad planning. I haven’t been a nail girl since 2018 but started for our engagement photos in November. I’ve been going since and I just looove it, since I do my own hair it’s really nice to get out of the house for a little glam and me time, and also having nails prevents me from picking my face 🫶
