How Many Sandwiches Have You Made for Me?!

Thank you for all the support on my Halfdays gear review last week! <3 let’s dive right into what I got up to this week, outside of my corporate marketing girly 7-4:

Tater Tot Hotdish and Cucumber Salad

Tuesday night I was craving food I grew up on, and wanted hotdish soooo bad. My mom bought and mailed me a copy of the First Lutheran cookbook (our church cookbook with all the good recipes in it) and I’m waiting on it, but I know tater tot hotdish by heart. I do ground beef, cream of mushroom, and green beans, then topped with tater tots obvi. On the side a true classic ND dish, cucumber salad. I do cucumbers, salt, into the fridge, then take ‘em out and add half and half and vinegar (maybe a 2:1 ish mix) and more salt. Back in the fridge and then they’re ready (best the next day, but so is the hotdish!). This was the best set of leftovers…….. – received the cookbook, thinking of a “Midwest Meal Prep” series I could do…It would be so good…stay tuned watch this space queen.

During the Week Gym, Walk

Wednesday we headed to the gym to get in a workoutttttt; it was 88 degrees out and sometimes it’s nice to go to the gym instead of sunny sweaty outside things. I’m still sore from it is why I’m even bringing it up. Leg press, extension, curl, lat pull down, rows, triceps, hit all of it and I did real heavy weight (I had an Uncrustable and a protein yogurt drink beforehand and it turned me into Hulk). Then, Thursday night, after a bunch of smoke blew through town from some Nebraska fires and before the huge wind storms blew in our cold front, we headed out for a walk. We went into LoDo, 16th street for a bit, just kind of around downtown to try and dodge that wind as it picked up. I love that we regularly do 3 mile walks and it’s just a thing now. I love seeing our city that way, decompressing that way, chatting with Ryder that way.

New New New Tea Lady!

Y’all know I love Tea Lady Shop (@tealadyshop @tealadykatie) and use her cycle syncing powders EVERY SINGLE DAY in my coffee. She had a sale going to I had to snag a Happy Gut and a Calm the Fuck Down, and THEN! She dropped her tea collab with HAYLEY mfing WILLIAMS! So I bought some. I can’t wait to try this loose leaf tea you guys for reallllll. Tea Lady just redid her tins and some branding etc and I’m loving it so much. Corsica for Dinner

We love a place where you can order a bunch of small plates and Corsica is one of them. It’s just up in RiNo, so expect parking to be difficult and reservations almost necessary. We don’t drink but we love these wine bars for their food, (like Barcelona, also in RiNo). We headed out Friday night and luckily got a spot at the bar. What we got: salt and vinegar chip, roasted carrots, Corsica frites, babajuan, tuna carpaccio, and the beef bavette. We loved the atmosphere, the lights and the brick walls with the wood ceiling was gorg. Loved the big menu, we’ll easily be going back to get the things we didn’t and our favorites again.

Ice Cream with Friends

After dinner we met up with our friends Abbie, Alex, and Winnie (they live in RiNo) and walked over to get ice cream at High Point Creamery in Denver Central Market. I got Brown Butter Pecan and Salted Caramel and it was fab. If and when we inevitably go back I will be getting the red pepper jelly and cream cheese or whatever the heck it is. They also have a basil blackberry that was nuuuuuts. You can get a flight of 6 kinds if you want, too. Good ice cream, I like their flavors.

Onto Coffee

Our friend Claire works at Onto; we’ve been meaning to stop by and finally made it for breakfast. She recommended the black sesame latte and the Vienna coffee so we got those, as well as an egg salad spam sando and an ube strawberry sando. Such a fun and good time!! The food and drinks were great and loved the ambience. The design and characters and everything are so cute. Big recommend! Fab service and parking available.

Crimson Desert

We finished Cyberpunk and so Saturday night we started playing Crimson Desert (did the animal propaganda work on us? Maybe). You can pet cats and dogs in the game hahahha. It’s fun so far! I think they said it would take 10-15 hours to get into it, so giving it a good go. We’re liking it but it’s a tough adjust from Cyberpunk or Skyrim or GTA. The controls are different and the combat is a bit different, but that’s okay! People have said that it takes time to adjust but is a great game. We’ll see how it goes but it’s a bit frustrating right off the bat.

Picnic at the Park

We had a picnic at the park with our friends! We got to see Ashley and Ara and Claire and Abbie and Alex and Winnie and Becca and Jake and Oliver! It was fab. I made a raspberry lemon cheesecake the night prior to bring, we grabbed some snacks at the store, and we brought it all out to Cheesman for a picnic. Blankets and chairs and babies and snacks and sun and yapping and it was a perfect day. Truly fabulous. We ended up being there for almost 5 hours. So tell me why it’s not Monday morning and I’m sore? Why is my neck sore. Why is my back sore. Oh because I sat on the ground for so many hours. Ok.

Summer House!! New Ep and drama!

I love when they come home from the club silly and drunk and dancing and eating, this ep started off so cute with Kyle still in his West scarf looking like Ken, everyone out by the hottub super late, it’s giving earlier Summer House! So cute. I love the vibes this summer. But that tension is real with Amanda and Kyle! She did say she felt the separation was inevitable so she focused on her friendships this summer and I can see that. It sucks for both of them. Justice for all our girls though…and did you see Paige and Hannah are getting a Netflix comedy produced by Amy Poehler? Just saying. Pivot - I’m so glad we have Ciara and Mia and KJ talking about these different experiences because of them being black, it’s such a necessary topic that shouldn’t be and can’t be hidden anymore, anywhere. ALSO DRAMA ALERT IS THE DRAMA REAL? are West and Amanda a thing and is Ciara cutting them out for it? We may know soon.

RHOSLC

I’m innnnnnnto Season 2 and omg to finally see the arrest, to see the trip to Vail, it’s pretty surreal. Watching all the women react, watching Whitney and Heather stay true when everyone was talking shit on Mary, learning more about Mary…I’m not shocked but also like holy shit. I know you know we know that she thinks she’s God and that Cameron mortgaged his house to give her 300k…She thinks she isn’t comparable to Jen Shah but she is. I’ll end that there! I love the type of friend Heather continues to be, and Whitney seems like she’s trying! Jennie is still a fun addition but I don’t like the pressure for more babies or a surrogate or sister wife from her husband. – Wow alright I’ve made to the Season 2 reunion. Holy shit what a season. None of these women truly make sense to me, but they actually make all the sense in the world. I’m not a Jennie or Mary fan though I’ll just say that. And Lance just let me in on the tea that Jennia is gone because she’s racist! While pointing out the racism against her…anyway. I’m fully invested. Onto Season 3 miluvs. And I’m sobbing that the dads got them a Mother’s Day trip just to fight lmao.
