Can I Just Squeeze Past Ya Here?
I just want to say thanks for reading and I love you all. I’m so happy to be able to spend time writing this blog, building community, and just creating. It’s so much fun, I’m having so much fun, and I hope you are too. Don’t forget to follow along in real time on Instagram. Anyway, here’s what I got up to this week!
Dinner at Petit Chelou
Our friends Ashley and Daniel invited us to go to a 6-seat tasting menu restaurant, Petit Chelou, by Chef Doug Ranklin from LA, held inside Hop Alley. It’s 7-ish courses, with both regular and NA drink pairing options. Wowowow. This dinner blew me away. It was beautiful, elegant, tasty, yet casual and so fun. Chef Doug has been working on Japanese / French fusion cuisine for much of his career, having just moved from LA and running Bar Chelou to Denver working Petit Chelou, hoping to expand. These courses were fab, from a radish starter to raw fish, tempura (the best!) morels, riced fingerling potatoes, the most AMAZING white asparagus, fried quail, and a beautiful hazelnut desert. I got the mocktail pairing which was super fun to experience, since I’m not usually getting anything special on that side. I e had a fabulous time and spent almost three hours there eating, chatting, and learning from the team behind the counter - Chef Doug Fresh, Wine Director at Hop Alley Jacob Roadhouse, and sous chef Becca Balenson. We truly loved this experience wholly, from start to finish. So so so so special. Highly recommend if you can snag a reservation.

My Last Rib Update
January 28 was when I broke a couple ribs, and it’s been some recovery since! I’m no longer feeling pain but I can sure still feel that something happened! My muscles will feel tight in my pec, kind of like scar tissue. I’ve been able to get back in the gym and ski and do everything for a month and a half at this point. Would not recommend but once the pain was gone it was much much better. Now I’m back to lifting the same amount as before, and even upping my weight. It helps my back issues (see last issue) as well to go to the gym and be active and recover well and rest, so that’s what I do. I’ve been able to get back to my fabulous chiropractor, Dr. Lauren at Nikau Chiropractic, thank goodness. So that’s it! Broke a couple ribs and 80 days later am stronger than ever.
Girl I Got NEW NAILS
Nails!!!! I’ve had these light blue with olive green stripes nails for a month and it’s time for new new!!! I wanted something springy but not pastel, warmer tones because I like to go back and forth. It literally took me until I was getting my stripes filed off to decide on the design and the colors, but it paid off. I ended up with the cutest orange, dreamsicle, 50s kitchen nails and I love them so much. I saw Oda at Nails House by Bonati for these. When I tell you that getting my nails makes my day….I was having a tough one right before. All it took was a couple hours getting my nails done and I was happy as a clam. And I really can’t stop staring at these orange beauties. Also, I was so honored to be the Bonati Monthly Girl, where Nails House by Bonati features someone who goes there. Check out the post here <3
Playing Crimson Desert
We’ve been playing Crimson Desert on Xbox and it’s been pretty fun! It really took 10-15 hours to get any good at fighting and find armor and get the hang of the controls. I feel like I’m still learning. But in the best way! It’s such an expansive game so far and trading off with Ryder when things get too tough for me is perfect. The puzzles are amazing, the tasks and adventures are fab, and they definitely don’t hold your hand for any of it. It’s a figure it out at your own risk type of game. Probably easiest to compare it to Skyrim, slightly mixed with Red Dead, but with a twist. If you’re looking for a game that makes you think and is challenging, check it out. Whenever I’m tired of this one I switch to GTA😂
Winter Park last daysssss
We got out to Winter Park for what we think is probably our last ski day out!! It was beautiful weather and so much fun but I have never seen it so bare. Props to WP on what they do have open and the quality of what’s there, it was so great. I can’t tell you how sad I am that the season is over so quickly, usually we have another month and a half at least. It’s been such a tough winter out here snow-wise. It’s been so fun getting into the park, since it requires less snow, we really had a banner year still. We learned so many tricks and improved our skills tenfold. I can go backwards and carve! I can spin in circles! I can do shifties! I can hit just about any box! I’m so proud of my progress. Missing it already o m g.

Miscellaneous?
We spent Saturday helping our friends move their things from apartment to Uhaul so they could head on out of state. I’m beyond sad. It's tough to lose some of our closest friends and well dearly miss them but hopefully will see the often still. They bought a house and I’m so proud of them and so so excited for them but selfishly obviously beside myself. Sunday we met up with my cousin Sarah so that she and Ryder could hit some skateparks since the both have their rollerblades. I’ve been thinking about trying so we’ll see…it was so much fun though. We went to Arvada and Golden. I love being able to see Sarah, her and I are so much alike and it’s just calming to be with her.

On Repeat and Faves
Harry Styles - uh oh I really really love this new album. So then I went back and listened to the album before it and forgot that I love that one too. Johnna if you’re seeing this I think we have to go to NYC.
Elta MD - this is the sunscreen I tried and kind of reviewed a few blogs back. I love it. I LOVE it. I put it on my face and ears and back of my neck (shaved head has a few drawbacks), and I’ve been using it on my chest as well. All my more sensitive spots and I haven’t broke out once!!
Colorado Avalanche - we try to watch as many games as we can per season and we’re locked in rn. So glad we’re done with the Nordiques jerseys, they’re such bad luck I can’t take it.
These freaking FP Movement pants I need in every color.
This protein powder in my morning coffee. I do the chocolate flavor. I love that it doesn’t clump and feels good on my tummy and tastes great.

Watching the new eps is painful and I can’t believe all of this news dropped in the middle of the season. I bet they’re seeing so many views lmao. A few things on my mind (brain dump coming)…Love Ciara. Queen. Red carpet. Dresses. Amazing. Winning. Like Gabby Windey said, a joint statement is embarrassing. And why are we going out for pap photos in clothes that cause more suspicionnnnnn. All press I guess. I’m not going to buy Loverboy merch but Kyle is really looking like the good guy right now!! (he isn’t). Carl’s a mess, but he isn’t, and I just love to see him thriving. West…no fucking comment. —Mandy putting out that apology and then going to the bar with West lmao.
RHOSLC
Ooooooo I’m getting near the end of season 3 and the drama!! Angie K and Danna are around for this San Diego trip and I can’t believe Jen poured her drink on Angie💀unhinged drama happening. The dichotomy of having fun, not being a bitch, but being a fun bitch, I’m living for it. — okay so Jen has been charged, Heather got her black eye, WHAT is going on?? I need to know how Heather got that black eye. What the hell is she being so weird about it for? Sus. I can tell they’re bringing the Angies on since Jennie and Mary were gone this season. I don’t like Mary (religious insanity). Idk.
RHORI
Are You Kidding Me?! I love these women. I’ve been watching Ashley I since Bach, otherwise I didn’t know any of them. I love them. Wow. The accents are incredible (being from ND it’s straight up foreign). Alicia and her hitting a woman with her car. Ashley crying. Jo Ellen being her. LIZ!!!!!!! Dolores!! TWins! Rulla! Wow. This whole cast is hitting. I can’t wait to see more than the first two eps!!
That’s all for this week! If you need more you know where to find previous blogs. ILY!
