And If This Title Could Speak, What Would It Say?

I feel like this blog is my own way of writing the positives, the things that keep me going and fulfilled and happy while the world crumbles around us. I yearn for creativity, fun, light, and see it as so necessary to humans and life. Sometimes the balance seems impossible, when there’s headlines of the worst you’ve seen on some of the best days of your life. Writing this, with just me and myself typing, keeps me tethered here. It keeps me present and reminds me of the gooooood. Even the simple weeks are beautiful. Being Better isn’t about conventionally being “better”, but your own version of what being better looks like and the beauty in following that.

Buccal Massage by Queen City Aesthetics

I follow a Denver influencer on Instagram and she went to Queen City Aesthetics by Bre W for this massage. I’ve been wanting to treat myself so I looked into it and booked! I got super lucky snagging one this early, since she’s booking out so far now. Wowwwwww how relaxing and wonderful this massage was! It was easy to park and easy to find. First I did a little mouthwash packet she had, then laid down. She started with witch hazel and grape seed oil in my face and massaged it in. Then she went inside my mouth, massaging from the inside and outside. The way she massaged my jaw muscles was incredible. She got both sides and all around and I was just so calm. Then she did maybeeee more grape seed oil? Couldn’t think after the massage. But she added something and had a guasha and did a lymphatic drainage massage. Don’t have anything planned after this because you’ll want to just relax. She does sooooo many more services, take a look and book!! I’ll know I’ll be going back.

Spice Room + Construction Colfax

Okay Colfax is a damn mess right now with construction and it’s become so frustrating as a consumer, which is farrrrrrr less than being a business impacted, but it definitely works to keep us kind of away. We took a nap Friday afternoon which meant we were up a little later, and after a couple errands we needed food! Feeling Indian and we somehow had never been to Spice Room so we headed over. It was 8:15 and the place was packed, they have a parking lot but it was full and the street parking was packed. We circled once and got a spot in the parking lot which was fab. We got the Chicken 65 to start, I got the Aloo Matar, and Ryder got the Roghan Josh. If you’re not super spicy, go for the mild! It was great. I have to say my favorites are still Bawarchi down south of Denver and Yak and Yeti’s buffet. Sorry I didn’t get any pictures, I was tired okay! It’s a hard knock life.

Fun fact: Colfax is the longest commercial road in America! This means it holds a lot of history and also a lot of business rely on foot or motor traffic. They’ve been working to downsize from two lanes each way, to one lane each way plus a bus lane; you can imagine what this has caused. I also just think it’s a bad idea considering the sheer amount of humans moving through the area, using Colfax as a main thoroughfare,  but hey, they have to put money somewhere to get rid of it! We’ll see how it works after they’re finished (some.day.)

A Sweet Treat

The way we love to go out for a donut or croissant or pastry on Saturday mornings should be studied. This weekend Ryder found OMG Donuts in Arvada through some random review, plus I wanted to go to the Broomfield mall, so we headed that way. When you walk in the owner greets you; we could tell it had been a busy morning with the amount left when we got there! I ordered a custard filled chocolate frosting and he filled it with custard RIGHT THERE. it was amazing. We got 6 donuts in total, some cake donuts, a special croissant donut, it was fun. He also gave us each a little glazed donut hole in the box. It’s in a nice little strip mall with some other things you might need, we had to get gas and it was right there. Then we headed to Broomfield mall, it’s always funny to go to the different malls around the metro because they’re all so different. This one is renovating a lot of spaces right now, with an air of old mall. They have a great Anthropologie which is what I was looking for, and Sephora. I grabbed the Rare Beauty Glimmer lip gloss and and loving it.

Ikon Pass

Ok get ready for a rant. Another year, another increase in price and less benefits. I love skiing. You know I love skiing. I feel grateful I live where I do and am able to go. But these corporate giants like Ikon and Vail are pricing people out, making the barriers to entry TOO high, and in general making skiing more difficult to access. $949 for the Base pass? Oh excuse me, $924 after the $25 renewal discount, how generous. As the sport changes due to climate change, there needs to be a serious thought as to how we’re going to keep these industries running. Nobody wants to buy lift tickets at the prices they’re advertising! Steamboat even started to sell “April passes” but ended up closing in March. Anything to make a buck! Even with the low snow, Copper is charging $100 per day for a lift ticket and calling it a deal. I hate that most people are priced out as they also need to deal with travel, accommodations, parking🤮, GEAR, rentals of all kinds, etc. I want everyone to experience the joy of skiing and this is not how to do it. It’s sad that our experiences are often impacted by bad decisions.

Summer House

Watching this last episode was icky! I can’t believe W*** and Am****!!!!! Also Ben started weirding me out and I really don’t think I like Sabrina…moving on though. Let’s talk about what we loooooove: Ciara, Mia, and KJ. It’s refreshing to witness something so real, true, and kind. Did you see Ciara in Glamour? Of course you did. Did you see Mia on WWHL? Of course you did. They’re such beautiful women inside and out. Carl and Bailey!!! Ugh. Their conversation was really nice to hear, and to see Bailey being so respectful and receptive to Carl! I don’t drink and that support is so important. The way she covered her drink after he was talking about it in a different context was literally touching. I love how honest Carl is being too, his comment about talking to Kyle was relatable. Jesse is kind of redeeming himself for me, if he can keep it up is the question. Did he know? I don’t care tbh. Can’t wait to see what the reunion brings! I’ve heard Lindsay Hubbard is ready to destroy W***. What if Paige hosted…would be nuts. I’m ready.

RHOSLC/RHORI

I’ve cracked into Season 4!! Jen is in prison! Angie and Monica are added! Mary is BACK! The usual suspects in Heather, Whitney, Meredith, and Lisa are still in play. The drama is this dang show…oh I live for it. I’ve loved this crossover with Trixie Motel, Trixie Mattel is a big favorite of mine. I’m crying at how this trip turned out with Meredith “hosting” but getting taken over and then the dinner ending in such…turmoil? I haven’t had as much time lately to watch so every ep is gold. This has been such a good introduction to Housewives, while throwing in starting RHORI too! I still love their accents, their attitudes, and their mindsets. Someone said it’s like old school Housewives in the best way and I guess I just have to believe them since I wasn’t there but I do agree!

Yay okay have the best week! Don’t sweat the small stuff! Don’t let people bully you! Use your brain! Love you! Anna!
