All In a Week’s Work! Redefining “Being Better”

Hi my friends I hope you’ve had a fab weekend and are heading into the week refreshed and happy and driven. This week I’m being better by understanding my own boundaries, wants, and needs. It’s a lifelong battle but I’m doing what I can to stop being a people pleaser and live true to myself while still knowing that I have feelings, emotions, and am sensitive. It’s been a busy season for us with everything going on and I’m working to keep my head straight! Anyway. Here’s what I got up to outside of my day job and the gym x2!

Voyage Denver article

My talented amazing gorgeous smart cousin referred me to be interviewed by Voyage Denver Magazine, and the article is finally live! This is so exciting and fun. I love Denver and I love the start I’ve had to making content, writing this blog, and putting myself out there creatively, so this was a really fabulous step further for me. I’m honestly in it for the love of the game, I want to let everyone know what’s good, what’s bad, what’s what. People always ask me for recommendations, so why wouldn’t I start doing what I know best, writing it up? Anyway, I’m honored to have been interviewed and really proud of myself. Follow me on Instagram and keep reading the blog to support <3 here’s a link to the interview:  https://voyagedenver.com/interview/conversations-with-anna-seibold

Snipeburger

Tuesday night we headed to Golden for Snipeburger with our friends Daniel and Ashley. We’ve been getting burgers from Snipeburger (at King of Wings) for years, since the KoW kitchen had a fire and the popup was only on the weekends in Wheat Ridge. Now KoW has two locations, and Snipeburger is in Golden every Tuesday. These smashburgers are our favorite, with the perfect patties, cheese, and toppings (Tangy gold sauce!!! Pickles! Onions! Lettuce! You can get jalapenos but I don’t! You can order up to six, unless you’re participating in their contest, shown on a board with up to 30 patties and bunch of winners who’ve named their # burger. It’s a gorgeous drive out there, and if you’re up to it it’s right next to trails you can walk. Big recommend if you haven’t been yet! Snipeburger Instagram for u

Walking at Bear Creek Greenbelt

Oh my goodness I love living here so much because we just pick and choose what we want to do and we can find it. After work on Wednesday we were really feeling a nature walk, and so we headed down to Bear Creek Greenbelt, a trail system that runs along, you guessed it, Bear Creek. We realized not too long into our walk that this must be a popular spot for bird watching…we started to see soooo many birds and then we saw a bunch of bird watchers. It was such a good time, such a beautiful walk on a warmer day! There’s shade, water, and different styles of trails from paved to gravel to right along the river. There were some prairie dogs too which I love to watch. The wind was a bit high, which is common here in the spring since we live next to a mountain range, and this was a solid spot to get some walking protected from it. You can bike here too, so I think we might be back as soon as we get those things out of storage!

Ryder asked to take my pic and I almost turned it down

Selling Jean!

If y’all have been following me on Instagram since the fall or on the blog since the beginning, you’ll know that my incredible fiance has been hard at work restoring Jean, the 1986 BMW 5 series, E28 535i, at his shop! (follow @ryderspeedshop) His goal was to learn a bunch and flip this car to sell, and he did just that! I can’t believe everything he did, y’all would be so impressed. He spent hours on this thing, had to learn a bunch of tools and processes, and looked to YouTube. This man gave himself a formal education on car restoration without going to school. He’s amazing. So anyway, this weekend he sold her! She’s been on the market for a little, trying to find the right price point and buyer is the hardest part. Finally we had someone come to give it a test drive and buy! Emotional but so exciting. We celebrated all day after, going to get lunch AND dinner out 😆 Onto the next!

Jordan’s Deli

This place opened not too long ago and I’ve been reading about it on reddit and instagram since! Everyone that’s been is a fan and we were hungry so decided to try it out after selling Jean. I got the Italian Hero and Ryder got the BLT. These things were amaaaaazing and hit the spot after a busy morning at the garage. Huge, I could only finish half and I’m looking forward to having that other half for lunch today. The bread on these was just right, not crunchy. Just enough toppings to sauce ratio. Putting that down next to a Diet Coke made me feel alive. It did take a while but it was buuussyy, a Sunday at like 1:30. They were also out of a list of things, but luckily nothing we wanted. You can get fries, onion rings, chips for sides. When this is the kind of sandwich you’re craving, this one is perfect.

What’s Been on the TV

Queen of Chess: You have to watch! This is about Judit Polgar, literally the best woman in chess in the world. Her story was insane, the misogyny was disgusting, and her power is just incredible. I was in awe, enamored. It touches on the misogyny in chess, how men didn’t think women were smart enough to be good at it. Judit’s father wanted his children to be geniuses, so Judit and her two sisters were basically homeschooled based on chess. They each were successful in chess, but Judit was the star. This was a great documentary!

Untold: Chess Mates: Yeah we were on the chess train this week. This doc looked too interesting to pass up, and it soooo was. So there’s the reigning chess champ, Magnus, and this new guy, Niemann, and a cheating scandal, and real chess, and Chess.com, and a lot of funny lines. For chess to be so serious it is insane that this one ended on anal beads. Watch it.

Trust Me: The False Prophet: This was really really hard to watch. It’s a new documentary on a group of FLDS, some years after Warren Jeffs being in Prison. This guy SB says that Warren Jeffs is dead, he is the new prophet, and that God told him. It devolves into some of the worst imaginable crimes. I was speechless. But thank goodness for Christine and Tolga and Julia and Dawn for their support, help, and bringing SB to justice. Wow.

Untold: The Shooting at Hawthorne Hill: Honestly this one is still confusing me. Just watch and you’ll see.

NHL Playofffsssss: The Avs are in the playoffs so we’ve obviously been tuning in to every game. It’s so fun that we’ve got Kings first round, it’s always the Jets and it’s been years since it was the Kings. I also say that because we are winning the round 3-0. We’ve been tuning in to the Bruins and Sabres too, since Ryder is from Mass we will watch the Bruins bomb it like they do. Flyers are funny lately. They sure make it difficult to watch and I fully blame it on Gary Bettman. He hates me and it’s not fair. I just want to watch the damn games! How can you grow viewership when I have to back alley stream the game! Why would you black out games in the area! Those should be advertised! What the hell! I don’t want to go to a sports bar to watch every damn game. FIGURE IT OUTTTTT. Anywhoooooooo so pumped that we’re moving on. Sweeping the Kings rocks.

Bravo: And I’ll just round out with Bravo, I’m watching Summer House, RHOSLC, and RHORI. Summer House drama, reunion taping, and audio leaks are keeping us fed alongside new RHORI, and I’m loving season 4 of RHOSLC. Catching up on some WWHL here and there, the Jesse Solomon one was incredible! I love you Andy Cohen.

Tennyson Street Warehouse

My friend Johnna checked this place out a few weeks ago and told us about it, so we went on Saturday morning! What a cute vintage store. It’s definitely more vintage/antique versus thrift, the prices are steep but the items are nice. I didn’t buy anything this time, but omg there is a dresser/vanity set that I’d buy immediately if I had the space. Lots of smaller trinkets, glass, jewelry, some furniture pieces, some really cool vintage clothing.

Yuki Ramen and Taki Sushi

Yuki!!! One of our all-time favorites around the city for sushi and japanese food with the riiiight price and a nice quiet atmosphere. It’s nice because we can get a whole bunch of different things; Ryder likes the karaage curry and I like to get some basic sushi rolls. This time I got miso soup, a spicy yellowtail jalapeno roll, and a salmon roll. Ryder got the kani cucumber salad (yum!!!) and the kaarage curry. I’m lucky because he knows how to make this curry at home too and it’s sooooooo dang good. It’s with those golden curry packets! With potato and carrot and chicken and rice. It’s a simple place with cheaper food and we love to go here and there to get our lil fix. We were tuckered out and I took no pictures.

Another week another dollar! Thanks for reading. I love you! I do.
