It’s Ridiculous How Much I Love Denver, Part Three: Sandwiches
I love a good sandwich and I knowwww you’re looking for one too. I’ve been building a list for years and I’m ready to give it to you. Here are some of the best sandwich establishments across the Denver Metro area! Plus some places that have a sandwich you need to try.
I will be working on updating this regularly <3

SubCulture in Cap Hill is one of our favorites. We love the location and the indoor/outdoor seating. They’ve got a bunch of stuff, from subs to salads and soup, and breakfast burritos on the weekends. I’m usually getting a sandwich, but I have to say their salads are soooooo so dang good and big if you’re wanting one. I like trying around the menu here, there are so many subs. They have pretty much any combo you could want or need on a sandwich, from clubs like the YAYA to 12 hr roast pork cubs like the Lily Anne, to braised Colorado beef subs, pastrami + roast beef, salamis, and a whole veggie section.
Little Arthur’s has been around in some way shape or form for a minute. What was once food truck has turned part brick and mortar, and they specialize in hoagies, steaks, and breakfast sandwiches. They do have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a LOT of good options outside of their well-known philly-type sandwiches. I love how their owner always signs off “Love yous”. This is such a good spot.
Lou’s Italian Specialties is in Five Points and while it has a lot more than just sandwiches, it had to be added here for sandwiches. They have a GIANT list of cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, and deli salads you can choose from. They’ve also got appetizers, soups, green salads, and paninis. I’m recommending a classic cold sandwich, The Louie, and a classic hot sandwich, the Meatball Parmesan. I love this neighborhood, the line between Five Points and RiNo. Once you’re done you can walk down Downing for Thick’s Gelato & Chocolates ;)
Vinh Xuong, which I also mentioned in a previous blog, has such a fabulous banh mi. They’ve got a few different options, and the owner is great at guiding you through what you might want or giving suggestions. They also have a grilled pork and a meatball sub, as well as a roast chicken and a tofu one. I probably mentioned the meat pie but get one of those, too.
Get Rights in Wheat Ridge is such an incredible place. It’s a bakery first, then restaurant, then plant shop, then community center. We started going long ago, and the line has never diminished. Their jambon buerre…their pastrami and all breakfast sandwiches, their PIZZA! Their maple salted cinnamon bun, their everything. Everything. The artichoke sandwich! Lol I just keep thinking of everything I love here. Go. Go!
Tortas ATM on 38th is one of our faves, and the tortas are amazing. Come hungry because they are large. They’ve always got fresh agua fresca and horchata, and I just love this place. Great prices! We love to come here for breakfast burritos too, call ahead and go in and grab em! They come with red and green salsa. You’ve gotta try everything.
Pizzeria Leopold in Lakewood was one of the first really good Italian sandwiches I got to try after moving here, and it was so good. It left a great impression and I’ve been back, literally for that Italian sandwich. They have so much more than sandwiches; pizza!!! appetizers, salads. They’ve got a bunch of retail to buy as well, tomato sauce, olive oil, etc.
Snarf’s is kind of your classic Denver sub place, but it’s so good. The menu is extensive, you can get subs like an italian, a french dip, there’s so many options. Classic chips and dip with these is awesome. I don’t know if you saw, but Jack Black was here and went to Snarf’s because it’s his favorite and now Ryder is trying all the sandwiches JB likes. I love a Ham and American with everything but onions.
Cheba Hut is almost even more classic to Denver than Snarf’s, with its weed-themed, kitschy operation and late hours, this one caters to stoners and sandwich lovers alike. When I first moved here I had Cheba Hut more often, it’s great after a night at Red Rocks or when you’re too tired to make dinner and want a sandwich with cream cheese on it.
Jordan’s Deli is newer, in a great location off of Broadway on 10th and Lincoln. We were craving a good, big sandwich and had been hearing about Jordan’s opening up! What’s fun is that they have breakfast and lunch sandwiches - for lunch there’s Hero’s and Sandwiches, Parms, and Chicken, so there’s a bunch of options. I want to try the Sausage and Peppers next time!! You also get a pickle slice (YES), and there’s sides including fries, onion rings, and tots, also chips etc. Simple and good.
Curtis Park Deli is in Five Points/Curtis Park and a classic. They do have 3 locations outside of this one as well! It’s a shorter menu with all of the classics that you’d be looking for - something like reuben, a french-style, an italian, one with an egg, you’ve got a pastrami one, fish, and caprese. I like that they try to carry some good drinks, kombucha, local sodas, etc.
Las Tortas is on Colorado Blvd kind of in Glendale and they have SUCH an extensive menu of tortas. Like any kind you want. They also have breakfast tortas, burritos, and quesadillas. If you’re on this side of town and looking for a torta, here you are!!
Los Carboncitos on 38th and a lot of people’s favorite (they also have locations across the metro!). Rightfully so, it’s fabulous. They’ve got queso, they’ve got gorditas, tostadas, salads, soup, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, alambres, huaraches, molcajete, fajitas, tortas, burgers, on and on. Their tortas and gorditas!!! Are great!!!
D’deli is over in Golden, if you need a sandwich while you’re over there this is where you should go! It’s a small shop with a long line for lunch, and the sandwiches are biiiig. They have such a large menu of their classics, paninis, veggie, sweet, savory sandwiches, hot, wild side, prime rib, they’ve also got a couple buffalo and elk sandwiches. Most seating is outside and it’s beautiful.
