Trials, Tribulations, and Trying
I can’t believe that August is almost over. The summer truly flew by, yet I felt pretty present for every hot minute of it. Grateful for my girls, grateful for my husband, grateful for love. It’s been a tough time lately! I’ve really been dealing with it all pretty well, except for the fact that I am absolutely exhausted beyond belief and burnt out as hell, but pretty good. I hope you’re well!! For real. It’s hard out here. I’m here for you, even if just in energy. Which leads me into…
Roxy
As many of you know, Ryder and I have three cats: Roxy, Marco, and Kona. Roxanne, our beautiful girl, left her earthly body a few weeks ago and it’s been the hardest thing ever. That’s my girl! She’s been with me for 8 years. That’s my queen and I miss her so much. I cried for days; I hear her and feel her. She’s my angel. I’m just glad she’s pain-free and meowing it up. I know she met a lot of you, too! So, shoutout Roxy, I love you!!
Tea Lady Shop
You know what it is: Tea Lady. I’ve been using her powders for a couple years and absolutely love them. Right now I cycle through Healthy Gut, Sweet Spot, and Glow Up every day, 2 tbsp in my coffee alongside my protein powder. I love that drink first thing to get me going; I can have a difficult time eating breakfast because I wake up anxious and angry, and this is such a big help. I can’t wait for Tea Lady to get the cycle syncing powders back! I’ve also been steeping her Steep My Sunshine tea up, throw a little oatmilk in there and you’re good! Big fan.
Aggressive Inline Skating
I’ve been learning to aggressive inline skate this summer and it’s been a great time. I’ve been rollerblading my whole like, and you might remember the summer that Ryder and I skated 400 miles around Denver, but this is a whole new ballgame. I don’t look like I’ve ever been on skates lol. And the worst thing! I’ve been on my aggressive skates so long that when I tried my 110s, it felt absolutely foreign. Scary. And I basically grew up on those! It’s wild. We’ve been hitting so many skateparks around and it’s been a great time except for when I fall or when men are rude or weird to me at the skatepark.
*Quick hot tips on escaping Denver heat mostly include heading west and finding a creek. This is important. Golden are is good but pulling off near Bear Creek is great. Shh. We also grabbed paddleboards this summer which has unlocked a whole bunch places for us to go and cool off. I can’t wait to keep bringing them places.

We’ve had tickets to Olivia Dean for so long and I’d been anxiously awaiting getting to see her. She was everything and more! What an incredible talent.
We got to see Pool Kids which has been on my list for a while and goodddddddd do I love them. It was incredible. They are incredible.
We also got to see Slow Joy again!! Will always try to see him. Bike Routes opened, who we’ve seen before too, and wow they’re good. Ugh Slow Joy sir, you put on such a good show. It was fantastic.
Earlier this summer we got to see Amyl and the Sniffers at Red Rocks and it was an incredible experience. It feels like a dream. Truly being so close to Amy Taylor was powerful.
My Latest Restaurant Stops
Two Hands
Stopped here with a bestie for a girl’s dinner and yap and this place is so cute. It’s newer, over on Tennyson, and Australian! Yeah I got the Steak au Poivre, not my usual (I’m humble) but I was being called and I went for it. Loved the steak, the cook on it was perfect and the sauce was amazing. I do continue to be reminded I do not like shoestring fries! My friend got the Market Fish and it was fab! Really good flavors happening.
Whittier Cafe
Black, women owned cafe, you say?! Whitter Cafe is Denver's only African Espresso Bar. All of their coffee comes from various African Nations. I met a girlfriend I haven’t seen in so long here and we both grabbed a drink and a pastry (please forgive me I don’t remember what we got I was very focused on our chat)! It was great. There’s ample seating, inside and out, and it’s a great vibe. We sat for hours and were comfy.
The Wolf’s Tailor
We went to The Wolf’s Tailor to celebrate multiple things with our friends, and had a great time. Their tasting menu in the summer is based on mainly things they grow on their farm, corn being the main star in our many-course dinner. Attention to detail is fab! Beautiful. Quite an experience. Spectacular, expensive, unique. If you want to see all of it, check out the detailed post I made: https://www.instagram.com/p/Db03bj5lBEx/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsi=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Aloha Cones
I used to go to a poke place on South Broadway but it closed…I also have a favorite place on Colfax (Asuka), but this particular Saturday we wanted to try something new. We found Aloha Cones and it was really great! We both ate the whole thing. I like the choices of bowls they give you, the portion size is big, and the quality was great. It was spendy! But great.
Okay that’s all, see you next time, bye!
