Cannolis, Chaos, & Way Too Much Peanut Butter

Hiiiii! I hope you had a happy Valentine’s Day! 🤍

Mid-February already feels wild. The year is moving, but in a way that feels steady instead of chaotic. I’ve mostly just been working and living lately, going to the gym, writing this blog, trying to stay present in the little things. Nothing groundbreaking, just consistent. And for right now that’s all I need.

Let’s get into it.

The Traitors 📺

I’ve been watching The Traitors and I am loving the chaos of the newest season. Waiting on new episodes is tragic, I am not built for weekly releases, so I started the season just before this one, which I had never finished.

Update: I finished it Season 3. Oh my goodness. What a fabulous season. The gameplay. The betrayals. The reunion?! Incredible. I cannot wait to see how this current season plays out because if it’s anything close to that level, we’re in for it.

Summer House 🏡

I’m also a big Summer House fan and this season absolutely has my attention. I like the new people, they’re shaking things up in a good way, but I do miss Lindsay and Paige! There’s so much drama with Amanda and Kyle (per usual), and I’m honestly excited to see them more at peace now in real life. Also: yes Ciara and West friends!! We love growth.

Shirley Temple Sodas 🥤

I tried the Slice brand Shirley Temple soda and it was good! I do feel like something canned can never fully compete with a real, over-ice, extra-cherry Shirley Temple, but I liked it. It scratched the itch.

I haven’t been able to find the other brands when I’m out and about, but if I do, I’ll absolutely compare. You know I will.

Ma’s Kitchen on Colfax 🥟

Ooooo okay. We went to Ma’s Kitchen Friday night and ordered a lot and it was all fab.

Scallion noodles. Scallion pancake. Spicy xiao long bao. Shu mai. Dumplings. Honestly a dream lineup. There’s something about ordering family-style and trying a little bit of everything that just makes dinner feel more fun. 10/10 will be back.

Valentine’s Day 💗

We don’t do too much for Valentine’s Day. There’s so much consumerism wrapped up in it, and we work hard on our relationship year-round, so it doesn’t feel necessary to go over the top. I do have my hair and nails done hahahaha.

We do cards, maybe flowers or a small gift, but mostly we just spend time together. Go for a walk. Hit some shops and thrifts. Find some good food. Just be. This year was exactly that, and it was perfect. Simple, easy, connected. That’s my favorite kind of celebration.

White Pie (for takeout) 🍕

A favorite pizza place of ours in Denver! We ordered a Sicilian Soho Sleeper and a New Haven Ricky Ricotta pie. I prefer the thicker Sicilian pies, something about that fluffy, chewy crust just wins for me every time.

Their pizza is so dang good. I do prefer it in person (it just hits different fresh out of the oven), but takeout still did the job. We also had their Valentine’s special red velvet cannolis which were cute and fun and very on theme.

Ryder’s Speed Shop 🚘

Ryder, my fiancé, is restoring a 1986 BMW 535i and he is officially done with all the mechanical work!! In basically 20 Mondays, he got this car starting like new, running like new, driving like new, and looking like new.

He has put so much hard work into this car, into the garage, into learning and figuring things out, I am so proud of him. Truly. Watching someone bring something back to life like that is so cool. I can’t wait to see him sell it and move on to the next.

MBB Show 🤡

Oh. My. God. This show was everything I wanted and needed and more. Mary Beth has been a favorite of mine for so long, but I’ve never seen her live. This was truly the biggest treat. She is the funniest person ever to me. So beautiful. Amazing. Diva. Talented. It girl. Her delivery is always spot on. Her jokes are just fucking hilarious to me. And I love the baronies. Our group of 4 got completely split up and the girls next to me said I was their friend now. The safest I’ll ever feel is in a comedy works watching MBB with the army of luv, miluv. Pants were model. Can’t wait for y’all to see her special because this was special.

Tamayo 🌮

Before the Mary Beth Barone show, we went to Tamayo with our friends Ashley and Daniel. We’ve passed this spot so many times on walks, so I was so happy to finally try it.

It’s upscale Mexican and everything we had was great: queso fundido with chorizo, the Bonito (tuna ceviche on avocado), chicken tikka enchiladas (unexpected and amazing), and Al pastor tacos. I also had a prickly pear agua fresca that I loved. Solid pre-show dinner. Would absolutely go back.

Elta MD Sunscreen ☀️

This sunscreen moisturizer is everything I wanted and needed! Yay. Finally I can stop searching. It isn’t oily. It isn’t greasy. I’m not breaking out. I still look glowy and alive. I will be using this daily and will report back again, but so far? She’s staying.

Update on Uncrustables 🥜

Okay. I loved the pink ones. The berry ones. So I thought, “Hey, let’s try one of the protein ones.” I got the berry protein Uncrustables and let me tell you what I SWEAR I KNOW: they just doubled the amount of peanut butter in them. That’s it. That’s the protein boost.

I cannot talk or breathe for minutes after a bite. Is it more filling? Yeah! But it’s more peanut butter so of course it is. So if you were wondering if they’re worth it, just know your mouth will be stuck shut and you won’t be able to yell at me. I don’t care if you try them. They do taste good.

That’s everything for this week 🤍

Nothing revolutionary, just little joys, good food, good TV, progress in the garage, and a Valentine’s Day that felt like us. I’m really leaning into appreciating the in-between moments right now, the dinners, the shows, the routines, because that’s actually what life is made of.

Thank you for being here and reading and keeping up with my little world. I love writing these and sharing what’s bringing me joy each week.

Love you. 💌
